It was a fine, sunny Sunday
One rainy day out in Dublin
Five travelers, all worn out
From all of the traveling
Eager and excited they boarded their flight
Only to be told later, that they must alight
Befuddled and confused, they picked up their bags
And returned to the terminal from whence they came.
(Apparently they needed to get their passes stamped, but weren't told to do so at any point. A customer service representative came and told them to get off the plane.)
They went to the check-in desk
To get themselves some help
To see how they could fix this big problem
They have got to figure out
But no help did come
In Dublin they're staying
For the night in the airport
The next morning to leave.
(To the tune of 90 euro for another flight, then a 10 pound bus ride after that. Wowza!)
Ryan air the lame,
Ryan air the dumb,
Never again will I fly
Ryan air again.

What a mess. What I found interesting is that they let you board the plane. It seems to me that someone in the airlines boarding really messed up. How were all of you to know the procedure. That is something they should have told you immediately. Hope your time in Ireland was worth the hastle. I'm sure your week will be much better than your weekend. We look forward to reading the update on your week.

Dearest Johnny,
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is that you now have an airport tale that is immortalized. You are part of the hallowed club that G & G are also a member. Remember on their 50th anniversary trip and they, too, spent the night in the airport? They awakened to find another woman sleeping between them. We didn't hear about YOUR sleeping conditions. Ha Ha.
Seriously, I am sorry about your MISadventure. I do love reading your blog entries. Thanks for sharing your trip with us.
Much love and many prayers to you,
aunt patricia
